After having crossed the Charles Bridge, we enter this beautiful square, with several historical monuments. We admire, for example, the statue of Emperor Charles IV, which was erected in 1848, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of founding, by him, of the Charles University (in 1348). The Charles University works so far. Another important monument, in this square, is the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, built according to the plans of a French architect Jean Baptiste Mathey, the work was finalized in the second half of the seventeenth century. The great green dome of this church is seen from afar and it is very typical for this baroque church. As we entered the church, we are impressed by the wealth of ornaments, paintings, statues and other works of art.
