The village in southern Bohemia, dating from the thirteenth century, is considered the "pearl of rural Baroque". Around the artificial lake, in the middle of the square, are aligned twenty-two houses with baroque painted ridges and a garden behind the building. The lake served for the purposes of creating the fish, the most important activity in the region, which gained fame. The village is a living reminder of the rustic tradition.
